CNN's Jake Tapper talks about Wednesday's Benghazi hearing

Anchor and chief Washington correspondent Jake Tapper talks with lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer on his first day at CNN about Secy. Clinton's Benghazi hearing on Wednesday.

Tapper to Blitzer on Secy. Clinton's hearing, "My sources tell me that there actually are a few new emails and cables, including some from November 2011 when the late U.S. ambassador, Chris Stevens, was exploring the idea of moving the compound in Benghazi to a different location, adjacent the CIA annex, which would have been safer and more secure.  But ultimately that plan was scotched. So, yes, some new information will come out tomorrow, I think."

Ivan Watson reports on the "final battle" in northern Syria

CNN's Ivan Watson (@ivancnn) reports from northern Syria on what rebels are referring to as the "final battle." For weeks the government-controlled Mannagh airbase has been under siege as rebels believe capturing it will help liberate the north.

"If the regime has even a 1% chance of taking back this region, this is a base that they would then want to rule from," said Abu Marwan, commander of the rebel Northern Storm brigade. "Once it has been captured, the north will be liberated."

Wu is "elated," "honored" that First Lady picked his dress

Jason Wu tells CNN’s Alina Cho that designing Michelle Obama’s inaugural gown was an honor and details what went into creating it.

Wu says, “Right now, we're working on the fall collection and we were all still working, we had been working until like 10:00, 10:30, and we had to watch. And when the second she came out and everyone just let out the biggest scream. I mean, the whole entire studio, it was amazing. The energy was amazing.”

He adds, “Well, I chose ruby red, and, you know, it was a custom weave fabric. I wanted it to look festive, but I had also wanted - wanted it to be soft and - so that combination of velvet and chiffon was really important so we wove, it was all hand loomed, the fabric, and it's little bets of velvet woven to a floral pattern within a chiffon fabric. It's a two-process.”

Kurtz talks Jilly Kelley exclusive interview

Howard Kurtz, Newsweek-Daily Beast Washington Bureau Chief and CNN Reliable Sources Host, details his exclusive interview with Jill Kelley, who was at the center of the General David Petraeus and General John Allen scandal involving Paula Broadwell.

Kurtz says, “It was a very emotional interview, Soledad as you might imagine, as Jill Kelley talked about the nightmare that her life has become. And how everything changed for her when she started receiving those anonymous emails that we now know were from Paula Broadwell. She used words… like blackmail and extortion. She said she was terrified. She would not tell me the exact nature of the threats. I did not get to see the emails. But she said she felt she had no choice but to protect her herself and her family by going to the FBI and that of course started the chain of events you referenced.”

Kurtz continues, “Jill Kelley told me this wrenching story about having a birthday party for her seven year old daughter, which was a couple days after this story exploded, Soledad, in the media and how 70 paparazzi were on her front line. She felt like her entire family life had been disrupted… She blames the media for reporting a lot of lies and half truths… She says she has never met Paula Broadwell and that she couldn’t even tell – because what she calls threatening emails were ambiguously worded – that these were from a woman or that there was any jealousy involved potentially involving her friendship, as she describes it, with David Petraeus.”

Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien airs weekday mornings from 7-9am ET on CNN.
