CNN Latino, the Spanish-language programming block, is expanding to Miami, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. With the addition of Miami to its existing presence in Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix and Salt Lake City, CNN Latino programming will now be available in markets that represent more than one third of U.S Hispanic homes since its launch in January 2013.
CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available in broadcast television on WDFL-Channel 12 in Miami from 3-11 PM (ET) beginning in August. CNN en Español will broadcast an exclusive interview with Michelle Gonzalez, a teacher who risked her own life to save the lives of three of her students during the tornado that occurred in Moore, Oklahoma this past week. The interview will be broadcast tonight on Conclusiones at 10 p.m. (ET), hosted by Fernando del Rincon.
Michelle Gonzalez, who taught at Plaza Towers Elementary, will talk about how she saved the lives of her three students and will describe the moments she spent underneath the debris while the children lay underneath her. FULL POST

Conclusiones, the primetime show that airs on CNN en Español hosted by Fernando del Rincon that monitors the key happenings of the day, combining in-depth analysis of the most important news of the day, will be taped in Los Angeles in October. New Affiliation Agreement in Salt Lake City Expands the Programming Block’s Reach
CNN Latino, the Spanish-language programming block custom-made for the U.S. Hispanic market, is expanding to Salt Lake City, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. With the addition of this new market to its existing presence in Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Tampa and Phoenix, CNN Latino programming will now be available in markets that represent about 30% of U.S. Hispanic Households.
CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available on KPDR-LD Channel 19 in Salt Lake City. As part of its expansion plan, CNN Latino will work with KPDR Partners, to develop its alliance with this new affiliate. KPDR-LD will be broadcasting CNN Latino’s programming block from 4-12 PM (MT). They anticipate providing local Hispanic programming content in the future.

CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available on WBQM Channel 3 in New York, New York; WATV Channel 47 in Orlando, Florida; WTAM Channel 30 in Tampa, Florida; and Channel 44 in Phoenix, Arizona. As part of its expansion plan, CNN Latino has partnered with TMA-TIG, LLC to develop alliances with key Hispanic television stations in east coast markets and CNN Latino has partnered with Lotus Communications to develop its alliance with Channel 44 in Phoenix.
"We are so fortunate to be in a strategic partnership with TMA-TIG and their first group of stations, which will allow for a rapid expansion of the CNN Latino branded programming block across the east coast of the U.S., and to have a relationship with Lotus Communications in their heritage Phoenix station,” said Hudson. “We believe that CNN Latino programming is a great alternative to the current offering of Hispanic broadcast content in the U.S."
Pamela Brown, George Howell and Alina Machado have joined CNN as correspondents, the network announced today. Brown will report primarily for CNN’s new morning program and will be based in New York. Howell will report for the network and will be based out of Chicago. Machado will report for CNN, CNN en Español and CNN Latino, and will be based in Atlanta.
“Pam is an outstanding reporter who made her mark in Washington, D.C. with exceptional coverage of domestic breaking news and enterprise reporting. The passion in her work is evident and we are so happy to have her join the CNN team,” said Ken Jautz, executive vice president of CNN/U.S.

CNN Latino celebrated its launch in Los Angeles in style at the Sunset Tower Hotel this week.
Among CNN's journalists at the launch party were Mexican actresses Kate del Castillo and Angelica Vale, Mexican actor and singer Diego Boneta, Mexican actor Eduardo Verastegui and model and former participant of the show "Mira Quien Baila" Maripily. Luis Miguel's daughter, Michelle Salas, also made an appearance.
CNN Latino is a new Spanish language programming block custom made for the U.S. Hispanic market that delivers a broad spectrum of programming, covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk, debate and more, representing an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks. It will available in the Los Angeles market on KBEH-DT CHANNEL 63, which is owned by Hero Broadcasting, beginning on Monday, January 28, 2012. Espinosa Will Host ‘Sin Límites’ for CNN Latino in Los Angeles
Native Angeleno and Emmy Award winner Elizabeth Espinosa will host Sin Límites, a new program with CNN Latino that will broadcast on KBEH-DT Channel 63 in Los Angeles, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson-Fernandez, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic strategy for CNN/U.S.
Espinosa, who will continue to anchor KTLA 5 weekend news programming, has traveled around the world producing and hosting special reports. She was honored with an Emmy Award for her 2007 special ‘Forgotten Footprints: The Hunted Children of Uganda.” Her in-depth reporting includes a special on disabled and abandoned children in El Salvador and interviews with women throughout Pakistan on the topic of arranged marriages. She is active with community non-profit organizations Ability First and Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA). Growing up, she was the primary caretaker of her learning disabled younger brother and to this day, she is an advocate for the rights of the disabled. Her personal story caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey, who selected her as one of the 10 finalists for OWN’s “Your Own Show” contest in December 2012. FULL POST
