CNN Latino, the Spanish-language programming block, is expanding to Miami, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. With the addition of Miami to its existing presence in Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix and Salt Lake City, CNN Latino programming will now be available in markets that represent more than one third of U.S Hispanic homes since its launch in January 2013.
CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available in broadcast television on WDFL-Channel 12 in Miami from 3-11 PM (ET) beginning in August. CNN en Español will broadcast an exclusive interview with Michelle Gonzalez, a teacher who risked her own life to save the lives of three of her students during the tornado that occurred in Moore, Oklahoma this past week. The interview will be broadcast tonight on Conclusiones at 10 p.m. (ET), hosted by Fernando del Rincon.
Michelle Gonzalez, who taught at Plaza Towers Elementary, will talk about how she saved the lives of her three students and will describe the moments she spent underneath the debris while the children lay underneath her. FULL POST
Rescue workers raced against time and the oncoming night Monday looking for survivors after a powerful tornado blasted an area outside of Oklahoma City, leveling homes and killing at least 51 people.

Three women who were missing in separate cases have been found together in Cleveland, police said. A 52-year-old man was arrested.
One of the women called 911 after breaking out of the house where she had been living.
"Help me; I am Amanda Berry," she said, her voice distraught in an audio recording of the call. "I've been kidnapped and I've been missing for 10 years. And I'm here and I'm free now."

New Affiliation Agreement in Salt Lake City Expands the Programming Block’s Reach
CNN Latino, the Spanish-language programming block custom-made for the U.S. Hispanic market, is expanding to Salt Lake City, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S. With the addition of this new market to its existing presence in Los Angeles, New York, Orlando, Tampa and Phoenix, CNN Latino programming will now be available in markets that represent about 30% of U.S. Hispanic Households.
CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available on KPDR-LD Channel 19 in Salt Lake City. As part of its expansion plan, CNN Latino will work with KPDR Partners, to develop its alliance with this new affiliate. KPDR-LD will be broadcasting CNN Latino’s programming block from 4-12 PM (MT). They anticipate providing local Hispanic programming content in the future.
Last Saturday, April 20, CNN en Español was honored with two Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards, including the Outstanding Daytime Talk Show Episode Award for their story “Confirma su identidad como mujer” on 'Showbiz' and the Outstanding TV Journalism Award for their story “Los transexuales buscan su identidad en medio de ignorancia y prejuicios” on 'Encuentro.'

CNN Latino's broad spectrum of programming covering news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate represents an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks, and it will now be available on WBQM Channel 3 in New York, New York; WATV Channel 47 in Orlando, Florida; WTAM Channel 30 in Tampa, Florida; and Channel 44 in Phoenix, Arizona. As part of its expansion plan, CNN Latino has partnered with TMA-TIG, LLC to develop alliances with key Hispanic television stations in east coast markets and CNN Latino has partnered with Lotus Communications to develop its alliance with Channel 44 in Phoenix.
