Amb. Crocker: suicide truck bomb today was "tragic" but Kabul is "pretty normal"

On the Wednesday, May 02 edition of Amanpour, host Christiane Amanpour interviews the U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, Ryan Crocker, following President Obama's surprise visit to Afghanistan.   Several hours after the VIP visit, a suicide attack killed several people in the capital of Kabul.  Amanpour asks Ambassador Crocker how dangerous the city is - and if this attack was timed to the visit.  Ambassador Crocker says today's suicide truck bomb was "tragic," but he does not believe the attacks were related to the President's visit and Crocker says Kabul is "a pretty normal, pretty secure city."

The full interview with Ambassador Crocker will air today at 3:00pm ET on CNN International.  For more information on this interview, please visit the Amanpour blog.

Amanpour airs weekdays on CNN International at 3:00pm with a replay at 5:00pm Eastern in the U.S.  and at 21:00 CET, with a replay at 23:00 CET.  This program will also be available via www.cnn.com/amanpour on Thursday, May 03.  The full transcript of this program may be found here later today.
