Dianne Gallagher Joins CNN Newsource as National Correspondent

Dianne Gallagher joins CNN Newsource as a national correspondent based in Washington, D.C., it was announced today by Paul Crum, vice president of affiliate services for CNN/U.S.

Gallagher joins CNN Newsource from WCNC in Charlotte, NC where she was a lead reporter and the weekend morning anchor.

“Dianne is an excellent reporter and we’re thrilled to have her join CNN Newsource,” said Crum. “Her diverse experience in the field will benefit CNN Newsource and its offerings for its more than 900 affiliates.”

Getting her start as an anchor and reporter at the CN2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina, she covered then-candidate Barack Obama through his 2009 presidential inauguration. She was voted the best reporter in the market three years in a row.

Gallagher is fluent in five languages, including Arabic, Italian, German, English and Portuguese. She has been nominated for two Emmy Awards and has won several AP & RTDNAC Awards.

Gallagher attended the University of Tennessee and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earned a bachelor’s degree in English.
