CNN’s Investigation of Delays in Care at VA Hospitals Earns Edward R. Murrow Award
CNN’s year-long investigation into delays at Veterans Affairs hospitals has been awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award by the Radio Television Digital News Association. CNN’s investigative team, led by senior investigative correspondent Drew Griffin, exposed a widespread national crisis within the Veterans Affairs healthcare system; eventually leading to the resignation of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki, the passage of federal legislation, and a fundamental change in how veterans’ medical appointments are made, recorded and reported.
