It is the diagnosis no one wants to hear. Every year, another 14 million people around the world will be told they have cancer. For years, the priority has been finding a cure. Now, in the fight against cancer, our greatest weapon may lie within — in the system already designed to fight for our bodies and our health. Immunotherapy uses the body’s own immune system to identify cancer cells, and kill them.
From common adult cancers like lung and melanoma, to childhood cancer like leukemia, this treatment is widely regarded as the future of cancer therapy. There is still a long way to go, with much to learn, but the results are promising. On this episode of “Vital Signs with Dr. Sanjay Gupta,” explore the world of immunotherapy through the eyes of cancer survivors who likely wouldn’t be here today without it.

Open Court

This month ‘Open Court’, and its host Pat Cash, travels to New York City with a preview of the final Grand Slam of the season – and the modern iteration of the oldest tennis tournament in the world – the US Open.
The programme visits Cincinnati to meet up with 6-time grand slam winner Boris Becker, who is coaching world number 1 Novak Djokovic. Becker knows what it’s like to win a slam – but how has he adapted to coaching a big-name player? CNN’s cameras are there as Becker prepares Djokovic for his run at the US Open title.
Also on the programme, in an ‘Open Court’ exclusive, tennis legend and rights activist, Billie Jean King looks at the life and career of a US Open champion who blazed a trail in the 50s and 60s – Althea Gibson, the first African American player to win a Grand Slam.
‘Open Court’ also looks at the U.S. Open by the numbers. How many tennis balls are used during the slam? Who has the fastest serve? And how many hot dogs are served during the final slam of the year?

Aerin Lauder is the Style and Image director of Estée Lauder, and Founder and Creative Director of luxury lifestyle brand AERIN. Granddaughter of Estée Lauder herself, Aerin began her career with the Estée Lauder Companies in 1992, and has helped shape the brand’s image globally for 20 years. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School of Communications, Aerin serves on the Board of Directors of the Education Committee for the Board of Trustees at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is a member of the International Committee of the Museum of Modern Art.
Shenan Chuang is the CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Greater China, leading both the Mainland China and Taiwan offices. Chuang joined Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide in 1983 and has been credited by Forbes for ‘helping revolutionise the mainland ad-industry’. Chuang tells ‘Leading Women’ about what she considers the biggest failure of her career – allowing a senior management walkout take place under her watch. It was an event she says she cried over. One of her proudest achievements however was bouncing back from this event, going on to win Agency of the Year in Asia Pacific from Campaign Magazine twice. Chuang also tells the programme why she thinks there is ‘no such thing as work-life balance’.

This month’s ‘Winning Post’ hots up with two of the best events of the summer calendar. From Glorious Goodwood, the show discovers how trainer Olly Stevens is employing top tech, from GPS to vibration chambers, to help his horses take their training to the next level.
The show also crosses the Atlantic and looks at the colour and history of the Saratoga Travers Stakes – the highlight of summertime racing in New York. The race is the oldest major thoroughbred contest in the United States – dating back to 1864 – and, coincidentally, the Saratoga Racecourse is the oldest operating track in the country.
‘Winning Post’ also looks at what it takes to become a successful trainer in America.
