UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon delievers message directly to North Korea’s leader on CNN
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer sat down with United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon today to discuss the possibility of a North Korea attack. Ban Ki-moon delivered a message directly to the leader of North Korea on CNN: “I was appealing to him that I’m speaking as the Secretary-General of the United Nations and also as one, a citizen of the Republic of Korea. And that he should refrain from making any further provocation and to do more to enhance the living standard, as well as for eventual peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.”
He also told CNN’s Blitzer, “I have made it consistently clear that I am ready to visit the DPRK when and if my visit is helpful and in close coordination with the concerned parties, particularly the Republic of Korea and the United States.”
