Elizabeth Espinosa Joins as Host for CNN Latino

Espinosa Will Host ‘Sin Límites’ for CNN Latino in Los Angeles

 

Native Angeleno and Emmy Award winner Elizabeth Espinosa will host Sin Límites, a new program with CNN Latino that will broadcast on KBEH-DT Channel 63 in Los Angeles, it was announced today by Cynthia Hudson-Fernandez, senior vice president and general manager of CNN en Español and Hispanic strategy for CNN/U.S.

 

Espinosa, who will continue to anchor KTLA 5 weekend news programming, has traveled around the world producing and hosting special reports. She was honored with an Emmy Award for her 2007 special ‘Forgotten Footprints: The Hunted Children of Uganda.” Her in-depth reporting includes a special on disabled and abandoned children in El Salvador and interviews with women throughout Pakistan on the topic of arranged marriages.  She is active with community non-profit organizations Ability First and Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA).  Growing up, she was the primary caretaker of her learning disabled younger brother and to this day, she is an advocate for the rights of the disabled.  Her personal story caught the attention of Oprah Winfrey, who selected her as one of the 10 finalists for OWN’s “Your Own Show” contest in December 2012.

 

“Elizabeth is a passionate communicator,” said Hudson-Fernandez. “With her roots, her drive for communicating under-told stories and her journalistic accomplishments, she will lead destination programming for today’s multi-cultural and multi-lingual U.S. Hispanic generation.”

 

Sin Límites will be an informative magazine-style show that will highlight Espinosa’s personal, relatable style as she explores current topical issues.  The one-hour program will broadcast Monday through Friday at 8pm (PT) on Los Angeles KBEH-DT Channel 63.  CNN Latino launches on Monday, January 28.  CNN Latino, a new Spanish language programming block custom made for the U.S. Hispanic market, will deliver a broad spectrum of programming that will cover news, lifestyle, documentary, talk and debate as an alternative to traditional Hispanic networks.
