Rick Santorum on Mourdock comments: “he didn’t say rape was a gift from God”

Tonight on OutFront, CNN’s Erin Burnett spoke with former GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum about the controversial comments made by Indiana GOP senate candidate Richard Mourdock. Santorum defended Mourdock saying “what the Senate candidate said is that the child is a gift from God and whether it’s conceived by rape or not, it’s still the gift of human life is a gift from God and that’s what he said.  I don’t — he didn’t say rape was a gift from God.  You’d have to contort words beyond meaning to get that understanding of it.”

Asked by Burnett if he would support his daughter if she made a different choice than what he believes, Santorum said “I love my daughter no matter what she does.  I mean that’s unconditional love.”
