CNN Digital remembers Julia Child

Grab a skillet and some elastic pants, and let’s dish together about gastronomic genius Julia Child and her influence on the culinary arts. CNN’s food blog Eatocracy cooked up a plateful of articles that paint a delicious picture of her enchanting personality, as well as the effect she had on fellow foodies. One post collects memories from Julia Child fans as they share stories of learning to cook or accidentally getting cut by her knife (yes, you heard that right). We’ve also conducted research and learned ten interesting facts about her: Did you know she spent time in Sri Lanka and China when she worked with the Office of Strategic Services (OSS)? Or that she once attributed her longevity to “red meat and gin”? Her life was so interesting and she inspired so many people, it’s no surprise that her kitchen is in the Smithsonian.

Oh, and we almost left off Jeanne Moos’s heartfelt and humorous piece about the Julia Child autotune. Almost.
