CNN sets focus on European business with launch of CNN Marketplace Europe

**New show launches Thursday 13 October at 1945 BST featuring interviews with:

 

    • President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso

Angel GurriaCNN International announced today the launch of CNN Marketplace Europe, a new weekly business programme focusing on the increasingly complex world of business inEurope, on air from Thursday, 13 October.

The show, anchored by CNN’s award winning business correspondent Richard Quest, with reporting from CNN business correspondent Juliet Mann, will fix the spotlight on one of the world’s most influential and interconnected continents, at a time of unprecedented upheaval for the European Union and its immediate neighbours.

A special section of the programme, Facetime, will see CEOs and key players fromEurope’s most innovative and successful companies offering their views on the opportunities and issues for European business, answering the big questions of the day.  

The very first Facetime on Thursday 13 October will see Richard Quest sitting down with the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, who outlines his vision for the European Union of the future.

Meanwhile, Juliet Mann quizzes the Secretary-General of the OECD, Angel Gurria, asking him what governments can do to ensure that Europe survives the current challenging economic climate.

The show will feature on-the-ground reporting from CNN business correspondent Juliet Mann.  Mann, who joins CNN to work exclusively on CNN Marketplace Europe, will travel across the continent to report on the business stories emerging around the region. CNN’s roster of business correspondents will also join the team to offer their expertise.
