On Friday, April 29, beginning at 3 a.m. ET, CNN.com will globally live stream the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton at www.cnn.com/royalweddinglive. Simultaneously, users will be able to share the experience with their family and friends in real-time, and contribute first-person perspectives on the day’s events via Facebook and iReport, the network’s global participatory news community.
At www.cnn.com/royalweddinglive, users will find a special live event destination to include:
- Live streaming video: The ability to toggle between up to four live video streams of various angles of the day’s events, including views of the arrivals, ceremony, parade route and balcony kiss.
- Facebook: Utilizing the Facebook Live Stream plugin, users can update their Facebook status updates, as well as see those of their friends watching the wedding on CNN.com.
- iReport: The page also features a continuously updating stream of the latest Royal Wedding-related iReports, as well as the ability to respond to lighthearted and fun assignments such as calls for photos or videos of a proper English breakfast, fashionably over-the-top hats and instant reaction to the bride’s wedding dress.
Mobile users also will be able to access a curated live video stream of the wedding festivities via the CNN Apps for iPhone and iPod touch, iPad, and Android tablet.
Additionally, Unveiled, the site’s Royal Wedding blog that covers all the chatty details that St. James’ palace isn’t commenting on – from the great dress mystery to the official iTunes release of the wedding vows – will provide up to the minute live-blogging of the event in its entirety.
