Sunday’s edition of State of the Union with Candy Crowley took a closer look at mental illness in the United States in the wake of the shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

Crowley’s guests on the program were Dr. Lisa Dixon, professor of psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine; Dr. E. Fuller Torrey, research psychiatrist and founder of the Treatment Advocacy Center; Fred Frese, a psychologist, former director of psychology at the Western Reserve Psychiatric Hospital and diagnosed schizophrenic; Pete Earley, former Washington Post reporter and author of “Crazy: A Father’s Search Through America’s Mental Health Madness”; Congressman Tim Murphy (R-PA) and Congresswoman Grace Napolitano (D-CA).
