
In addition to a first look at the highly anticipated mobile device, a packed house in San Francisco and millions watching Apple’s press event from around the world were treated to a sneak preview of CNN’s new app for iPhone 5. Selected as one of only two applications featured for the global debut of its next generation iPhone, Apple chose CNN’s app to showcase the device’s features such as a larger four-inch screen, higher resolution and improved viewing experience, among other enhancements.
The new CNN app will be available when Apple’s iPhone 5 hits the U.S. market on September 21, 2012.
CNN announced that the CNN App for Android is now available globally for free on the Kindle Fire. The CNN App combines intuitive navigation with an immersive news experience, giving users direct access to CNN’s global resources so that Kindle Fire users can access CNN wherever they are.

Time Warner Inc. today announced the launch of the CNN-TIME Convention Floor Pass app, the ultimate mobile tool for the 2012 political conventions. The app will feature 24/7 breaking news updates and alerts, daily analysis and commentary, exclusive early access to CNN-TIME polls, photos and video from CNN and TIME journalists on the ground at the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. CNN-TIME Convention Floor Pass will be a must download for convention attendees in Charlotte and Tampa and will provide non-attendees a virtual ticket to the convention hall floors.
