CNN Café wins Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Morning Program in Spanish in the United States

The 43rd edition of the Daytime Emmys® Award was held yesterday, May 1st in Los Angeles, California, and CNN en Español’s morning show, Café CNN, was recognized for Outstanding Morning Program in Spanish in the United States.

Co-anchors Alejandra Oraa and Maria Alejandra Requena, along with Vice President of Programming and Production for CNN en Español, Eduardo Suarez, were on stage to receive the award on behalf of the entire team. CNN Café was awarded for coverage of the Seventh Summit the Americas in Panama.  FULL POST

CNN Coverage: NALEO Annual Conference

Live from Orlando, Florida, CNN will broadcast coverage of the NALEO (National Association of Latino Elected Officials) Annual Conference.  Suzanne Malveaux will anchor Newsroom International from the conference, Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22, 12-2pmET.  Jim Acosta and Jessica Yellin will contribute to CNN’s coverage, along with CNN en Español’s news team Juan Carlos Lopez, Alejandra Oraa and Gustavo Valdés.  CNN will broadcast speeches delivered by Mitt Romney on Thursday in the 12pmE hour and President Barack Obama on Friday in the 1pmE hour.  In addition, CNN Democratic strategist Maria Cardona and Republican strategist Ana Navarro will provide insight and analysis of the speeches.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer will interview Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) today about Sen. Rubio’s new book,  immigration and 2012 politics. Tune in to The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN from 4 pm to 6pm (ET).

CNN en Español broadcasts special coverage for the NALEO Annual Conference session

Starting Thursday, June 21st through Saturday, June 23rd, CNN en Español will broadcast special coverage of the National Association of Latino Elected Leaders (NALEO) Annual Conference session. This exclusive coverage will be broadcast from Orlando, Florida, the place where the conference will take place and hosted by CNN en Español’s news team, Juan Carlos Lopez, Alejandra Oraa and all-platform reporter Gustavo Valdés.

This special coverage will include reports that will cover all of the events, as well as transmit live coverage of the speeches of President Barack Obama, former Governor Jeb Bush of Florida and Senator Marco Rubio, among others. At the same time, CNN en Español’s team of journalists will also interview some of the nation’s top executive and legislative leaders.
