CNN TO HOST BACK-TO-BACK NIGHTS OF SPECIAL POLITICAL PROGRAMMING MAY 15 AND 16

WASHINGTON, D.C. — May 10 — CNN will host two nights of special primetime political programming on May 15 and 16, focusing on the major issues facing the nation.

Chris Cuomo will host a Town Hall with U.S. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, a key figure in leading the Democratic opposition against President Donald Trump’s agenda, on Monday, May 15 at 9 p.m. ET.

Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate a Town Hall Debate featuring Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Ohio Governor John Kasich at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, May 16. Sanders and Kasich were finalists for the Democratic and Republican presidential nominations in 2016.

Less than two weeks after House Republicans narrowly passed a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, and with tax reform a top priority for President Trump, Pelosi and then Sanders and Kasich will discuss and debate these and other issues before live studio audiences.

Both primetime events will air on CNN, CNN en Español, CNN International, CNNgo, Westwood One Radio Network and on CNN Channel 116 on Sirius XM.

Introducing CNN Talk: Max Foster to chair new political debate show

Introducing CNN Talk: Max Foster to chair new political debate show

A new political debate show will debut this Friday on CNN International at midday London time. CNN Talk, chaired by Max Foster, will dissect the big stories of the week as several key elections and political events come into focus.

Foster, CNN’s London correspondent, will be joined by economist and commentator Liam Halligan, known for his regular columns in the Sunday Telegraph and The Spectator; former Labour Party advisor turned political commentator Ayesha Hazarika, and LBC Drivetime presenter Iain Dale.

Up for discussion in the first show will be this weekend’s presidential election in France, as well as the latest on the UK election trail, events in Washington, and the big political stories from around the world.

Viewers can interact with the show via social media by watching live on CNN International’s Facebook page. Your live comments will play an active role in the panel’s discussion.

CNN Talk airs Friday at 7am ET/midday BST/1pm CET on CNN International.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 18 – CNN will host a Town Hall with Ohio Governor and former Republican presidential candidate John Kasich on Monday, April 24 at 10 p.m. ET.

Kasich will discuss his take on Trump’s first 100 days in office, his reflections from the 2016 campaign, and his hopes for the future as outlined in his book, Two Paths, America Divided or United. 

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will moderate the Town Hall between the governor and a live studio audience in New York.

Kaylee Hartung Joins CNN As News Correspondent

Kaylee Hartung joins CNN as a news correspondent based in Atlanta effective immediately, the network announced today. She will report for all of CNN’s television and digital platforms.

Prior to joining CNN, Hartung was a sports reporter for ESPN, where she worked live events, regularly appeared on SportsCenter and contributed to the network’s coverage of the College Football Playoffs, the men’s and women’s NCAA basketball tournaments and the College World Series. In 2016, she reported on the death of Vanderbilt University baseball pitcher Donny Everett and the flooding of her hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During her five years with ESPN, she also hosted and reported for SEC Network and Longhorn Network.

Before ESPN, Hartung spent five years in the CBS News Washington bureau. She produced, photographed and edited reports for CBSNews.com. She also worked as an associate producer for Face the Nation and assistant to the program’s then-host Bob Schieffer, preparing research for Schieffer’s 2008 presidential debate and campaign coverage in 2008 and 2012.
