CNN International to Launch on SiriusXM

CNN International, which reaches more than 354 million television households around the world, will expand its presence in the U.S. by launching on SiriusXM beginning Thursday, August 17.

CNN International will be available through the SiriusXM app on smartphones and other connected devices, online at www.siriusxm.com/player, and select SiriusXM radios on channel 454.

With a distinctive programming lineup featuring renowned journalists such as Christiane Amanpour, Richard Quest, Becky Anderson and Hala Gorani, CNN International offers in-depth reporting and analysis of news from around the world. FULL POST

Japanese innovation and inspiration take centre stage in new series from Great Big Story and CNN Digital Studios in association with All Nippon Airways

Everything from Japan’s flying cars to hip-hop grandmas are celebrated in two new series produced by Great Big Story and CNN Digital Studios as part of a branded content collaboration with All Nippon Airlines (ANA), Japan’s only 5-star airline.

The partnership between ANA and CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) was originally established in 2016 with the ambition to encourage travellers to explore Japan with ANA, leading to the creation of the successful 2016 Ichigo Ichie digital series. Evolving that strong partnership, the new campaign marks the first sponsorship from CNNIC which combines the expertise of the network’s premium original video content arm CNN Digital Studios, cinematic storytelling from global media company Great Big Story, and bespoke content from CNNIC’s brand content studio, Create.

The CNN Digital Studios series, titled Vision: The Future of Japan, is the biggest series to date produced by CNN Digital Studios in London. A collection of eight films, all shot on location across Japan, offers an in-depth look at the fascinating destination and explores the ambitious projects that are shaping the future of the universe including flying cars and the world’s fastest supercomputer.

CNN named most popular news source for business and leisure travellers

No other international news media comes close to CNN in engaging with global business and leisure travel audiences, according to the inaugural Media GPS survey, conducted by international research consultancy BDRC Group, which has studied the trends of 9.9 million weekly international travellers.

By surveying international travellers as they book through online travel agencies (OTAs), traditional travel agents and corporate travel management companies (TMCs), the Media GPS study found that over 50% of all international travellers turn to CNN via TV and digital for news and information during their trips.

CNN International to air special coverage of UK Election

CNN International will kick off rolling coverage of the UK election with special programming, beginning at 10pm BST on Thursday 8 June, tracking all the latest news, polls, results and reactions as the UK heads once again to the polls.

Coverage on 8 June will be anchored from the CNN London bureau by Hala Gorani and Richard Quest, with correspondents stationed at key locations for the big vote.

Christiane Amanpour will be outside the Houses of Parliament, where she will be joined by Robin Oakley to interview key guests during the evening.

At Theresa May’s campaign headquarters, Nic Robertson will be on hand to gauge reaction, while Fred Pleitgen will be at Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign HQ.

Nina dos Santos will be stationed at a key polling station as voters cast their ballots, and Erin McLaughlin will be in Brussels, to look at how the vote might impact on Brexit negotiations.

Introducing CNN Talk: Max Foster to chair new political debate show

Introducing CNN Talk: Max Foster to chair new political debate show

A new political debate show will debut this Friday on CNN International at midday London time. CNN Talk, chaired by Max Foster, will dissect the big stories of the week as several key elections and political events come into focus.

Foster, CNN’s London correspondent, will be joined by economist and commentator Liam Halligan, known for his regular columns in the Sunday Telegraph and The Spectator; former Labour Party advisor turned political commentator Ayesha Hazarika, and LBC Drivetime presenter Iain Dale.

Up for discussion in the first show will be this weekend’s presidential election in France, as well as the latest on the UK election trail, events in Washington, and the big political stories from around the world.

Viewers can interact with the show via social media by watching live on CNN International’s Facebook page. Your live comments will play an active role in the panel’s discussion.

CNN takes to the New York Stock Exchange, with new show: Quest Express

CNN International is launching a new daily business show, presented by Richard Quest, live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.

Quest Express will air weekdays at 5pm GMT, from 30 January.  The 30-minute show will offer a quick-fire briefing on the latest market movements and business stories, building a bridge between the close of the European trading day, the opening of the markets in New York, and the start of the business day in Silicon Valley.
