Celebrates Full Year as #1 Source for Political News

Marking a full year as the Web’s number one source for political news, CNN Politics registered another month of record-breaking numbers in March 2016. Leading all competitors in all categories — multiplatform visitors, mobile unique visitors, video starts, multiplatform views and time spent — CNN Politics left no doubt that it’s the nation’s most trusted source for political news and information.   

CNN Politics: #1 Multiplatform Unique Visitors (Desktop + Mobile)

CNN Politics welcomed across platforms a record 41 million unique visitors in March 2016 — 5 million more than CNN’s previous record (Feb. 2016). The network saw 14 million more visitors than HuffPost Politics, and nearly doubled the audience of Politico.

Tripling its two nearest competitors, CNN Politics dominated video in March with a record-breaking 107 million video starts — up 380% over the prior year.

CNN Politics easily retained its first place position in March 2016 with a record-breaking 394 million views. Up 108 million over February 2016’s record-breaking numbers and 336% over the prior year.

Audiences spent a stunning 900 million minutes consuming CNN Politics content across desktop and mobile platforms last month — an increase of 150 million minutes over the prior record from February 2016. That’s nearly double the time spent on Fox News Politics and triple that of TYT Network.
