Scott McLean Joins CNN Newsource As National Correspondent
Scott McLean joins CNN Newsource as a national correspondent based in Washington, D.C., it was announced today by Paul Crum, vice president of affiliate services for CNN/U.S.
McLean joins CNN Newsource from CTV News in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he was a reporter and anchor researching and presenting original and investigative stories for broadcast and online, including investigations of the Calgary Police.
“Scott is an excellent storyteller, with a diverse range of reporting and anchoring,” said Crum. “His communications skill set across multiple platforms will benefit CNN Newsource and its offerings for its more than 800 affiliates.”
Prior to CTV News, McLean was an anchor and reporter for Global News in Vancouver and Regina. While there, he covered the 2012 U.S. Election and produced a long-form investigation of the provincial jail system in Saskatchewan.
McLean garnered an Honorable Mention from the Radio Television Digital News Association for ‘Becoming Snowbird 6,’ a special program that followed a rookie pilot training to join Canada’s iconic Snowbirds.
McLean earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from York University in Toronto. He is conversant in French and Arabic.
