Jodie Kidd to host ‘CNN Equestrian’ on CNN International

• CNN offers its global audience an event-side seat at the world’s premier equestrian events

CNN today announced that television personality and international fashion model Jodie Kidd is to front a series of special equestrian programmes across its international network.

‘CNN Equestrian’ will see Kidd present all the latest action and showcase the unique skill, athleticism and elegance of horse and rider teams in comprehensive coverage of equestrian events.

The series starts in September, with Kidd presenting the first show from Caen, the French town hosting the World Equestrian Games.

Subsequent programmes will be hosted from Barcelona, Spain, for the Nations Cup and before the year is out, Kidd will be back in France, in Pau, for three-day eventing.

Coverage will feature the various disciplines of the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) – jumping, dressage, eventing, driving, endurance, vaulting and reining.

Kidd brings a combination of TV and sports experience to her first presenting role for CNN. Television experience includes her own US show, Fashion Avenue, and co-fashion commentating for the BBC at Royal Ascot, and Channel 4 at Goodwood. In sport, she plays polo to a high level and golf off a handicap of 18. Kidd has also enjoyed a successful career as a high octane Maserati racing driver, competing at some of Europe’s most prestigious racing circuits in the Maserati Trofeo Series.

Jodie Kidd said: “I’m absolutely thrilled and honoured to be joining CNN to host these shows. I can’t think of a better place to take my passion for all things equestrian, and I can’t wait to get going!”
