Blinken: “No one’s going to guarantee” Assad regime used chemical weapons

Last night during “Syria in Crisis: A Townhall Special,” Deputy National Security Advisor Tony Blinken discussed intelligence regarding chemical attacks in Syria with “New Day” Anchor Chris Cuomo.

When Cuomo asked why we would use military action if he can’t guarantee that the Assad regime used chemical weapons, Blinken responded, “Because we believe beyond a reasonable doubt, let me use that standard that’s familiar to a lot of people… that the Assad regime used chemical weapons against its own people.… The case is clear. It’s compelling. It’s based on intelligence. It’s based on facts. It’s based on a lot of public information.”
