Matt Damon doesn’t enjoy diet, training for films; will move back to NYC if LA invades privacy

Matt Damon opened up about deciding to do Elysium, training rigorously for the sci-fi film, pushing the boundaries with Behind the Candelabra, working on his production company with Ben Affleck, moving to Los Angeles for privacy and being a father to four girls.

Damon told New Day’s Kate Bolduan that he chose Elysium because he loved the director Neill Blomkamp’s movie District 9 and wanted to be part of a great science fiction movie.

On moving to Los Angeles, Damon said, “… We do treasure our privacy and we do get it here in New York. And people are really cool and you get absorbed in whatever neighborhood you’re living in. We’re not leaving New York because of anything New York did.”

New Day airs weekdays 6-9am ET on CNN.
