Alex Rodriguez on PED allegations/plea deal: “Let the process play out”

New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez opens up to CNN’s Jason Carroll about returning to baseball after his hip surgery, his love of baseball, support from his fans and the investigation into allegations that he took performance-enhancing drugs from a Florida clinic. On New Day, Carroll said that the Major League Baseball league would not comment on the allegations as they are still investigating.

On a possible plea deal with the MLB, Rodriguez said, “Well, I don’t think there’s anything that’s going on right now, and that’s as far as I’m going to take it. I think it’s important that we have a process. I think we have a good system with Major League Baseball. And let’s let the process play out.”

“I hate all the noise but, you know, hopefully that goes away soon and we can get back to playing baseball,” Rodriguez added.

New Day airs weekday mornings from 6-9am ET on CNN.
