CNN’s Arwa Damon reports from heart of protests in Istanbul

CNN’s senior international correspondent Arwa Damon (@arwacnn) files a dramatic report from the center of the protests in Istanbul’s Taksim Square.

Wearing a gas mask, Damon says: “Riot police have just moved in trying to clear out Taksim Square using tear gas and water cannons. There are a number of different front lines here where they’re actively standing off with the protesters. The more violent these demonstrations become, the more herded and polarized both sides are in their stances against one another.”
