100 Hours, 100 Faces: Memorial Day interactive on CNN.com

As the U.S. observes Memorial Day, CNN is honoring the fallen by spotlighting U.S. casualties from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Beginning this morning and over Memorial Day weekend, CNN.com’s homepage will feature a different member of the armed forces every hour in an interactive called 100 Hours, 100 Faces. The interactive compiles 100 of the more than 8,000 U.S. and coalition troops who have died in these conflicts. Among the 100 troops will be one from every state, as well as the youngest, the oldest, the first and some of the most recent casualties from both wars. 100 Hours, 100 Faces highlights information from CNN’s globally recognized Home and Away initiative, an extensive data visualization of those lost in Afghanistan and Iraq.
