CNN iReport integrates Facebook’s Open Graph Technology

CNN iReport, the network’s global participatory news community, has improved the experience for users when they connect their iReport and Facebook accounts. iReporters can now share stories, images and comments posted on iReport to their Facebook Timeline and activity feed. This development aligns with iReport’s overall strategy to broaden the site’s visibility to users on other social networks, and in general, make CNN iReport even easier to use.

Here’s how it works:
Taking advantage of Facebook’s Open Graph technology, users can now opt-in to share stories and images uploaded to iReport on their Facebook Timeline when they post a new iReport. All shared iReport images and their accompanying stories will live in a special album automatically created for the iReporter on their personal Facebook page. In addition, when commenting on other iReports, users can opt-in to share those messages on Facebook as well.

In its next phase, iReport plans to extend these functions to the CNN mobile apps. To learn more and get started, check out iReport’s blog here.
