Actor Brad Garrett opens up to "Starting Point" about his new movie "Not Fade Away" and has fun with CNN's panel.
Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien airs weekday mornings from 7-9am ET on CNN.
Future Senator, Rep. Tim Scott (R-SC) discusses the gun control debate in the aftermath of the tragedy in Newtown, CT.
Rep. Scott says, “I think the solutions are not necessarily in new legislation. Perhaps the solution starts with us examining the mental condition of the person and the persons in the past that have had the desire to create the atrocities that we’ve seen recently. So mental illness should be a major part of the conversation going forward. We should also look at an opportunity for us to engage this entire culture of moral decay and violence. So when we start looking for solutions as a response of a crisis, I think we’re starting in the right place. If we draw conclusions quickly, we may draw flawed conclusions.”
On Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien, CNN’s Chief International Correspondent and Anchor Christiane Amanpour details Japan's strict gun laws, which leads to a discussion about the gun control debate in the United States following the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
