Rep. Brady: DOJ voter ID stats not accurate

Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) says Voter Rights Act will protect voter rights in Texas on CNN’s Starting Point.

Rep. Brady says, “Yes, there is voter fraud and I think protecting the integrity of the ballot is the real voting rights issue here.”

When Brady disputes a Department of Justice claim that voter ID laws are unfair to minorities because they are more unlikely to have identification, CNN Guest Anchor Christine Romans asks if he thinks the Department of Justice is making it up.

He responds, “Yea, I think they’re absolutely cherrypicking the numbers and political groups they want to use for that data.”

Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien airs weekday mornings from 7-9am ET on CNN.
