Robert Zimmerman: “You don’t call the police and then kill somebody”

Tonight, Robert Zimmerman sat down in an exclusive interview discussing today’s news of his brother’s arrest. In this heated exchange, Piers Morgan and Robert Zimmerman discuss who is at fault in the night in question:

“If he just carried on doing whatever he was doing with his life that night, Trayvon Martin would still be alive,” said Morgan. “The only reason Trayvon Martin is dead because your brother decided that a young Black teenager in a hoodie looked suspicios and then pursued him.”

Zimmerman disagreed whole heartedly:

“Absolutely false Piers. Absolutely – nothing could be further from the truth,” argued Zimmerman Jr.

Referencing the infamous 911 tapes, Zimmerman Jr. suggested that by calling the authorities, Zimmerman showed his intentions as a good samaritan:

“What he said was, ‘Hi, I’m calling because there have been a significant number of break-ins in my community.’ So, he never called to say ‘Hi, I’m calling because there’s a black teenager in a hoodie.’ And you don’t call the police in order to go commit murder. You don’t call the police and then kill somebody.”
