The rea-lifel Goonies: 6th graders find treasure; turn into authorities

Five 6th graders join Early Start to chat about the sunken treasure they found in a lake near Oakland during a weekly cleanup project.

Sahaas Ellis says, “It looked very valuable. Once we pulled it out of the lake, I was like, wow, this has got to be worth some big — a lot of money. So, I was a little surprised. I was like, wow, this is a really big find. Never seen anything like it.”

When asked by CNN anchor Zoraida Sambolin if they’ve found anything else interesting, Gabriel Lee responds, “Well, we’ve never really found anything as interesting that I would like to say on the air.”

Early Start with Ashleigh Banfield & Zoraida Sambolin airs weekday mornings from 5-7am ET on CNN.
