George Clooney: Sudan is ‘committing war crimes;’ will give testimony to Congress

On Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien actor and director George Clooney and John Prendergast, co-founder of the Enough Project, discuss their efforts to raise awareness about violence in Sudan.

Clooney says, “Well, they don’t allow any press there. They don’t allow any cameras there, but more important than that is it’s very difficult to catch these images even with a satellite, because it’s not running continuously. So, it requires coordination between on the ground and in the air. But what’s important about this is… these are war crimes. When you are indiscriminately bombing innocent civilians, you are committing war crimes and that is what they’re doing. It’s a cowardly act, and that’s what they’re doing.”

Clooney and Prendergast will testify to Congress about Sudan.

Starting Point with Soledad O’Brien airs week mornings from 7-9am ET on CNN.
