CNN.com’s Monday profile franchise features a Mad, mad icon

This week, CNN.com’s Monday Profile series, a weekly spotlight on an outstanding person, focuses on Al Jaffee. A contributor to Mad Magazine since 1955, Jaffee is known best for his work on the Mad Fold-In (located on the magazine’s back page, and turns one picture into another by folding one portion of the page over the other) and “Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions” sections. Housed in the US Section, the story profiles Jaffee’s ”bumpy” life, which has “rolled downhill, uphill and occasionally clicked into place” and also goes through the evolution of Mad Magazine. The article includes a gallery of the other Mad contributors (“the Usual Gang of Idiots”) alongside their caricatures as well as a gallery of Jaffee’s work.
