FAREED ZAKARIA GPS: Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011

On today's edition of FAREED ZAKARIA GPS, the founder of Women to Women International Zainab Salbi, co-authors and journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn discuss the changing roles of women in the world.  They discussed the relationships between restricting education and financial independence for women and economic progress and political stability in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.  They also discuss the positive impact of microfinancing upon women – and the societies in which they live – in Bangladesh, Congo, India, and elsewhere.

Also during this program, Fareed Zakaria interviews architect Frank Gehry, renown photographer Platon, and robotics engineer Heather Knight about innovation and creativity in their respective fields.

The full transcript of the Sunday, Sept. 4 edition of FAREED ZAKARIA GPS may be found here.  FAREED ZAKARIA GPS airs Sundays at 10:00a.m. ET & PT.
