While Alabama bore the brunt of last week’s devastating tornadoes, the storm system tore across six southern states. In northwest Georgia, the small town of Ringgold was particularly hard hit. Many areas of the city were shut down, with authorities allowing limited access to the wreckage. That’s where 2008 CNN Hero Tad Agoglia and his crew are stepping in to help. With more than a million dollars worth of specialized equipment, Agoglia’s unique disaster response unit uses its tools and experience to help communities recover in their darkest hours. He and his team are currently on the ground in Ringgold, where several buildings were demolished, and many homes simply vanished into piles of rubble.
