Osama bin Laden death: CNN coverage

Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — the worst terrorist attacks on American soil — was killed by U.S. forces Monday in a mansion in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

As part of its special coverage, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interviewed Colin Powell on the May 2, edition of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.  Complete details of CNN’s coverage are available after the jump.

In an address to the nation Sunday night, U.S. President Barack Obama called bin Laden’s death “the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda.”

CNN continues to offer viewers in-depth reporting on this story from experienced journalists in Pakistan – Nic Robertson, Reza Sayah, Nick Paton Walsh – who are all familiar with the region and the global war on terror story.  In addition, CNN’s roster of knowledgeable analysts – Peter Bergen (who interviewed bin Laden in 1997), Suzanne Kelly and Paul Cruickshank – are providing perspectives that viewers can find nowhere else.
