Jerry Parr, Secret Service agent for President Reagan: “He was dying”

CNN investigative correspondent Drew Griffin reports on the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan on March 30, 1981.  Weaving CNN’s dynamic coverage of the events as they happened 30 years ago, with new interviews from eye witnesses, Griffin  speaks to Jerry Parr, one of the U.S. Secret Service agents who saved Reagan’s life, and Drs. Joseph Giordano and Wesley Price – who treated President Reagan at George Washington University Hospital.

Dr. Giordano tells Griffin that the bullet that struck Reagan stopped a mere inch from his heart.  The president lost about 40 percent of his blood volume.  Additional video preview here.
